If gravity is the shape of spacetime, why is there the need for a graviton messenger particle? General relativity generalises special relativity and Newton's law of universal gravitation, providing a unified description of gravity as a geometric property of space and time, or spacetime. Does the creation of a black hole from a super massive star collapse create gravitational ripples in 4d space-time? In general relativity, the gravitational force is a fictitious force due to the curvature of spacetime, because the gravitational acceleration of a body in free fall is due to its world line being a geodesic of spacetime. Why cannot we say acceleration actually curves the space-time and get rid of gravitational field once and for all? The Bianchi space-times are a generalization of the simplest Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) cosmological models. I like the idea of ADS/CFT as an emergent theory of gravity and space-time; in the sense that a 10 dimensional gravity theory emerges from a 4 dimensional gauge theory where gravity is absent. I would think the quick release of. After seeing some heavy stuff on Relativistic Theory of Gravitation (RTG) in the last post, we come to yet another book on General Relativity (GR) which is titled Space Time Gravitation by Yu. They call it “lensing” because gravity acts just like the lens in your eyeglasses, bending the path of the light–except instead of bending the light with glass, gravity is actually distorting the curvature of spacetime itself.
